As a contributing member of the Engineering team the Application Engineer’s primary role is to act as the technical expert, interfacing with the appropriate technical counterparts within the customer’s organization. Close collaboration with customer is critical to ensure retention, growth, and expansion of opportunities. Formulation of strategic plans in collaboration with Product Market Management, Sales, and Advanced Technology Engineering functions ensure customer needs are met or exceeded. In addition, engagement and direction of NPI teams is required to ensure correct delivery and translation of customer requirements.
RequirementsAdditional Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Engage and partner with internal functions to deliver early concepts, prototypes, and materials for customer or market evaluation.
• Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to create and build presentation materials for internal and external customers. High proficiency with PPT, 3D CAD modeling and Math Packaging software recommended.
• Automotive and/or military customer experience required.
• Five to 10 years of hands-on engineering with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of CAD programs and working knowledge of WARN quality tools (SPC, GD&T, FMEA, DFA/M, etc.) required.
• Knowledge and experience with Drivetrain/Powertrain/Winching/Hoisting/Military Vehicle Engineering/Vehicle Operations/and Automotive Aftermarket
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, GPDS, CPCS, GTDS, MIL STDS systems and processes.
• Must be able to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with customers and co-workers. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Self starter with the ability to manage large scale project while given limited direction.
• Time flexibility to work and communicate across international time zones, (DTC, Europe, India & China)
• Domestic and International travel 30% or more to ensure strong engagement, collaboration, and relationships with customers.
