Supervises a group of Packaging Technicians and/ or service parts staff, to provide technical support and service to packaging equipment customers within an assigned geographic area. Ensures customer service agreements are met, services and support are provided in a complete and cost effective manner, and employees operate safely and competently in the performance of their duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise packaging tech staff, including:
- Managing concurrent projects and assignments on time and to specs, accomplishing goals by working through others
- Determining appropriate staffing levels and positions and selecting staff
- Establishing goals and objectives with staff; communicating performance expectations
- Scheduling and assigning work
- Monitoring and coaching work performance; rewarding and recognizing performance
- Maintaining all required employee recordkeeping
- Ensuring employee and product safety
- Providing job and skill development opportunities
- Managing employees in remote locations
- Manage packaging equipment support services, including:
- Ensuring provision of cost effective, complete technical equipment maintenance and installation support to customers and sales reps
- Maintaining familiarity with customer service agreements
- Working directly with customers and sales reps to develop or identify equipment applications
- Working with suppliers and vendors to coordinate delivery and maintenance of packaging equipment
- Maintaining broad knowledge of packaging applications and equipment, both vendors and equipment
- Maintaining broad knowledge of packaing equipment maintenance practices and standards
- Developing and providing product demonstrations
- Ensuring appropriate service tracking, costing and billing
- Maintaining required records
- Coordinating and communicating across work functions and locations
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a Packaging Equipment Services environment
- Must have experience with stretch wrappers, case handlers, shrink wrappers, palletizers, etc.
- Must be willing to serve as working supervisor
- Requires excellent organizational and leadership skills
Location
May be based in Portland, Seattle or other Northwestern metropolitan area.
