Cisco Systems, Inc. is looking for a dynamic, high-energy Software Engineer who has a diverse technological background, loves learning new technologies, and has a passion for solving complex problems in a way that anyone can understand. The Cisco Prime Home team in Lake Oswego, OR is responsible for a product that provides Tier 1 ISPs and their millions of subscribers an easy to use web-based system for configuring home networks. Position responsibilities:
- Work independently, yet as a member of a tightly integrated multi-discipline team.
- Create high-quality, maintainable code using Agile best practices.
- Contribute to our products codebase, development process, and ability to satisfy customers.
- Invent compelling solutions to difficult configuration use cases that will appeal to non-technical end-users.
- Communicate with QA, Operations, and Support personnel.

Required skills and experience:

- 5+ years of professional experience writing multifaceted, object-oriented web applications.
- Familiarity with Scala or other functional programming languages strongly preferred.
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Web 2.0 technologies.
