Under the direction of a Regional Director, the General Manager, responsibilities include all phases of branch/market operations and results, including staffing, training, budgeted production, sales and service goals, customer service, quality, safety and compliance.
- Manage to key customer metrics, sales, customer retention and associate retention.
- Ensure the timely resolution of customer service issues including code reds.
- Prepare and execute yearly budget which include a monthly sales, retention, staffing and financial forecast.
- Evaluates performance and ensures recruitment, interviewing to meet and maintain business needs.
- Responsible for developing annual and seasonal operational plans and successfully executing strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals.
- Ensure compliance with Scotts financial, regulatory, environmental, and ethical policies and guidelines.
- Responsible for leading talent management initiatives within assigned market.
- Develop and execute continuous improvement efforts within assigned market.
- Provide on-going coaching and talent development to subordinate managers within the business
- Recruit and hire as well as terminate direct reports after partnering with HR
- Maximize asset and people utilization within the market ensuring compliance of round guidelines.
- Maintain positive associate relations by applying fair and consistent company policies
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Education:BS degree required or equivalent years of education and experience (5 to 10)
Experience:
Five+ years of experience providing a route-oriented service to customers at their homes (i.e. plumbing, cable, package delivery, lawn service, etc...). Managing a multi-branch environment is strongly desired. Experience in the lawn care industry is a plus. Prior P&L management experience is required.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of general business practices and principles is required
- Strong knowledge of P&L management, employee management and customer service is required.
- Strong ability to communicate with customers in a clear and professional manner
- General office computer skills will be needed (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, Word)
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Current state pest control certification or ability to become certified
- Must have a valid drivers license
