Job Duties:
Mentor Graphics World Trade Training team manages training for the Sales, Support and Consulting divisions with a focus on Mentor Graphics product training. Additional responsibilities include sales methodology training, presentation skills, productivity, and other development needs as they arise.
The E-Learning Editor/Manager will work closely with WT Training colleagues to design, create, edit, and manage learning content. Because of the content volume, technical nature, and large number of subject matter experts, this role will work closely with the experts to help them develop their own e-learning content, while ensuring that it conforms to e-learning best practices and internal standards. In addition to e-learning authoring tools, this role will also utilize video to capture classroom events or webinars and use post-production editing to create finished self-paced content. This role will use content management systems to post, manage, and track e-learning usage.
Responsibilities Include:
* Collaborate with training team and subject matter experts on the effective use of instructional design strategies, web-based and multimedia technologies
* Develop and maintain standards and best practices to ensure quality e-learning content that can be deployed to PC, tablet, and mobile devices
* Develop collaborative relationships with subject matter experts to identify and prioritize learning opportunities
* Work with subject matter experts to develop their own e-learning content to meet quality e-learning standards in a timely manner
* Provide recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, use of assessments, and online interactive activities
* Manage project timelines and coordinate with team members and subject matter experts
* As needed, develop e-learning courses, exercises and assessments
* Plan, shoot, and edit video using video conferencing system or video camera
* Add transitions, jump cuts, indexes and other basic post-production techniques to video and learning objects
* Configure, support and manage content on hosted e-learning systems
* Strategize and implement techniques to drive content usage
* Track and report e-learning usage and assessment results
* Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies and approaches and policies for potential application to instructional opportunities
Job Qualifications:
* BS degree (or equivalent) preferred
* 3-5 years experience with e-learning development, curriculum design, training methodologies and online education
* Demonstrated ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials that support course learning objectives
* 3 years experience with video recording, editing and publishing for e-learning
* 2 years experience producing, recording, and editing webinars to create self-paced content
* Demonstrated expertise with E-learning authoring platforms and development methodologies (e.g. basic HTML coding skills, Articulate/Captivate/Claro or similar, graphic design and media production)
* Strong knowledge of AICC and SCORM specifications and demonstrated knowledge of user interface content development
* Experience with Cisco/Tandberg or other teleconferencing systems preferred
* Self-directed and self-sufficient
* Approximately 15% travel
