Job Description

The Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center is located in downtown Portland and is 16 kilometers from the Portland International Airport.  The Rose Garden Arena, Memorial Coliseum and the Lloyd Center mall are near this property, with easiest access to the Rose Garden/Memorial Coliseum.  Independently owned and operated by Hollander Investments, our full service luxurious hotel is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team.

As an Accounting Assistant your responsibilities will include supporting the accounts receivables and payables, daily cash reconciliation, payroll, posting payments, petty cash, researching guest credit card disputes, filing and other administrative duties.

Must enjoy working with people and be an energetic TEAM PLAYER 

Responsibilities: 
Report directly to the Accounting Manager 
Positive problem-solving for internal and external customer service issues 
Handle payment transactions for large groups, adjustments and AP/AR 
Assist guests/vendors and internal clientele with information as needed 

Working Conditions: sitting for extended time, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, sitting, pulling, must be able to pull, push, and lift 50 lbs safely.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education or Experience: Ideal candidate must have a minimum of one year accounting experience; hotel background preferred.
High School Diploma, college degree/courses and industry training a plus 
Display ability to interact professionally with guests, vendors, department managers and co-workers while multi-tasking.
Experience with 10 key and accurately typing min. 2500 KPS/40 WPM 
Computer experience with Microsoft Office system, Opera PMS and vendor websites 
Accounting competency, processing cash, check & credit card transactions
