Job Description

PC Connections EXCELLENT client located in Corvallis, OR has a Permanent opportunity available for a Systems Administrator.  Company offers OT after 40 hours worked!!

• Performs general administration and maintenance of Microsoft and Citrix environments.
• Performs administration and maintenance related to backups, storage, server blade infrastructure, enterprise e-mail systems and security.  (they will learn to do this)
• Coordinates with vendors and support representatives to install, update and/or repair systems.
• Participates in after-hours maintenance windows and disaster recovery efforts.
• Point of escalation for complex technical issues.
• Works under the general direction of department management and the Systems Administrator II.
• Makes recommendations for system purchases.

Job Requirements

• Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot quickly and automate processes.
• Knowledge of storage and sever design and architecture.
• A solid understanding of an operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, filesystem concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems.
• Working knowledge of networking and a general understanding of routing.
• General understanding of Citrix virtualization technologies (XenServer, XenDesktop, XenApp).
• General understanding of Microsoft technologies pertaining to Server 2008 R2 and Active Directory
• General understanding of industry standard backup and recovery processes using Symantec BackupExec.
• General understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2010
• Associates in Science with 2 years of previous system administration experience.
• Industry Certifications such as; MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, CCA, CCIA or CCEE are preferred.
