Conifer Health Solutions is currently hiring for a Scheduler.

Summary
Under the direction of the Imaging Director and the Scheduling Supervisor, the Scheduler is responsible for operating a centrally located outpatient services scheduling program that includes answering telephones, scheduling outpatient procedures, and filing.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to multi task in a very busy, sometimes stressful medical office environment
  • Answers multi-line phone using proper telephone etiquette and takes messages when needed in a courteous manner.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with the medical staff, their office staff and ancillary departments.
  • Checks physician orders for accuracy and completeness within established guidelines.
  • Obtains information needed for scheduling.
  • Schedules OP Imaging procedures and when needed notify ordering providers of required changes based on Radiologists Protocols in regard to patients medical history, medication allergies and laboratory results.
  • Schedules OP procedures for Shaw Heart Center, Respiratory Therapy, EEG and Mobile Lab Draw departments.
  • Provides exam prep instructions to patient/ordering providers.
  • Performs Medical Necessity checks.
  • Maintain and manage physician orders.
  • Must meet and maintain accuracy and productivity benchmark for scheduling set by supervisor within 6 months.
  • Interact with follow up team on patients schedules.
  • Completes needed records in an accurate and legible manner.
  • Cross train and work other areas within department as needed.
  • Participates in self-development programs both internally and externally.
  • Adheres to hospital and department policies and procedures
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of office supplies by notifying Supervisor/designee as needed and assists in maintaining care of equipment.
  • Use of computer programs; Meditech, Info X, CHI Connect, Chartmaxx, Atlas, EMR and Learn.
  • Operates office machines; copier, fax, scanner and printers.
  • Attends department meetings, in-service and programs relative to position or department need as scheduled.
  • Performs other duties as needed.


Qualifications

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical anatomy, and prior hospital or medical office experience required. One year experience with medical scheduling is preferred. Ability to work independently. Must have keyboard/computer experience. Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills and has a clear and pleasant speaking voice. Highly organized with attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Standing 30% of the time; walking 30% of the time; sitting 60% of the time; lifting and carrying 5% of the time and able to carry up to 20 pounds. Pushing/pulling 5% of the time; bending, stooping, twisting 10% of the time; reaching and handling 10% of the time. Climbing stairs 2% of the time (Elevator available).
  • Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective hearing devices;
  • Vision: adequate to read 12-point type with or without use of corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to verbally interact with staff, clients and public.
  • Manual dexterity of hands/fingers for writing, computer input*.

Working Conditions
1) Work indoors in heat-controlled environment 98% of the time. Some exposure to hazardous materials. Safety materials provided for hazardous materials.
2) OSHA Exposure Category
Category #2: No job related exposure to blood and/or body fluids.
