Sr. Web Software QA Engineer at Portland

Senior Web Software QA Engineer to be a part of our engineering team.

Youll be working on one of the highest traffic sites on the web. Youll have to be organized, a great prioritizer, and a strong communicator to excel.

Core Responsibilities:

• Create, manage, update, and execute test plans

• Coordinate nightly assignments for our offshore testing team

• Communicate bugs via tracking tool (Jira)

• Assess and communicate testing status and release readiness

• Incorporate automated testing as appropriate

Required Experience:

• 8 years experience in web-focused software QA or development

• Experience with multi-platform and multi-browser testing

• Knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Linux, HTTP, Web-based services (ie, REST APIs), relational databases

• Experience with the whole SDLC, from project inception through development on to maintenance.

• Understanding of the priorities associated with revenue-based projects

• Creativity to break things in strange and unusual ways paired with a willingness to manually test the mundane in order to discover possibilities for more exciting testing

• Ability to write detailed reports, test plans, bugs, and follow detailed escalation procedures

• Willingness to own mistakes and work towards process improvements to help prevent them in the future

• True understanding and enjoyment of quality assurance - improving efficiency, finding and reporting bugs, verifying stability, saving money and time, and improving the quality of products tested

Pluses:

• Experience writing cross-browser automated tests

• Experience testing Windows client applications

• Experience testing Mobile sites and apps

• Development experience in Java, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and/or CSS
